Imaginary Zoo’s project, Our Words collects, transcribes and publishes online those quiet and sometimes hidden voices that make up our social history. We act as a resource for future generations, validate working experiences and promote information that can inform policy for change.
There are many other exciting and outstanding projects in the UK and we will carry as many links as we can to act as a portal to our shared stories.
What’s your story? Who did you grow up to be?
If you would like to submit your story to us for publication please contact us for more information.
You can record your submission and send it to us via snail mail.
Please see attached waiver form for supporting publication in the archive and a list of questions to act as a prompt.
Are you interested in volunteering?
We are looking for people to undertake interviewing and transcription.
We would require a Disclosure Scotland certificate.
You can apply here http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/basicdisclosureonline/ and in the rest of the UK it would be a DBS check – https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/disclosure-and-barring-service.
We will provide a training pack and training and support as well as reimbursing expenses.
We follow all legislative guidelines with reference to the Data Protection Act.
